I've been asked to write for french paper Barbieturix. I chose to write first about New Rave or whatever you call it rave
thus I know it has been posted everywhere including on my blog but it's it's not so big in France right now
or maybe this idea came to me @Crystal Castles show 3 days ago?

Debout là dedans ai je envie de dire it’s time to join the rave je dis ça en anglais car tu va te faire des amis à l’international, ensemble vous porterez des TS trop larges, des leggings autres fuseaux, tight jeans, des lunettes démesurées le tout fluo bien sûr, un lifting inesperé en fait, ainsi en gang vous agiterez des glow sticks en pogotant les bras en l’air dans la fosse au concert des Klaxons oui tout ça en même temps.

Debout allez cette musique ne s’écoute pas dans ton salon mais dans des fêtes dont le lieu est tenu secret jusqu’à la dernière minute.
Mate le clip sans complexe de Trash Fashion « It’s a Rave Dave » à la fois guide et bonne entrée en matière qui ne craint pas le mauvais goût mais prône le FUN en majuscule
Tout ça te rappelle ce qui se passait dans les early 90s ou ce qu’on a pu t’en raconter jeune !?
New rave le terme est laché par Jamie Reynolds (bassiste et fondateur des Klaxons) puis vite regretté car complétement récupéré par les journalistes anglais alors que l’electro Rock (après l’electroklash qui semble si loin aujourd’hui) ne fait plus recette.
New Rave, Indie rave, Rock N Rave peu importe ce qui compte c’est que les bands continuent à jouer,à faire des disques et des fucking bon disques prenant ça et là le meilleur ou le pire du rock, de la dance et de l’electro.
Mes potes des Klaxons font ça très bien ils reprennent un track dance floor de 92 The Bouncer par Kicks Like a Mule un must mais attention très kitch, piochent aussi allègrement dans l’indie pop new wave des 80s, le manifeste du futurisme d’où ils tirent leur nom originellement Klaxons (Not Centaurs), et s’inspirent de ses thèmes exaltation du mouvement agressif, de l’insomnie fiévreuse, du pas de course, saut mortel, l gifle et coup de poing; l’amour du risque, l’audace, la révolte La primauté de l’homme sur la machine « Tout est joué live. Nous transposons des éléments de l’electro le rythme, la vitesse sous une forme humaine. Nous jouons nous mêmes ce que font les ordinateurs » dixit Jamie <3.Pour finir ils s’entourent d’un des producteurs les plus prolixes de la scène electro j’ai nommé James Ford membre de Simian Mobile Disco dont on attend avec impatience l’album pour 2007 et sont bien sûr remixés par le best de la scène électro mondiale.

Myths of The Near Future lui est out ouf.Le phénomène grandit à vitesse TGV, arrive en France ça te colle le smiley mais voilà tes voisins font la gueule parce que t’écoutes Myths Of The Near Future trop fort ; ils aiment pas la guitare ?
Qu’à cela ne tienne bosse tes pas de dance sur Crystal Castles (et profites en pour monter le volume) ils ont troqué riffs de guitare contre riffs de synthés furax, enfin je dis ça c’est si t’as la chance de posséder leurs disques, leurs maxis sortis sur Merok ou Young Clubs sont sold out car pressés à peu d’exemplaires et quasi homemade, à l’instar des Klaxons, Fox n’ Wolf, Trash Fashion, the Infants, To my boy, Hadouken !, Crystal Castles prônent le DIY (do it yourself) alors chacun y va de son artwork inspiré, leur nom fait d’ailleurs référence au palais de She-ra (sœur de Musclor pour les plus ignares) : un univers psyché à souhait aux couleurs flashy.

Sur scène ils play rough comme ils aiment à le dire, Alice attrape le mic, hurle avec conviction pour couvrir le son de Microkorg trafiqué avec une puce de console et saute partout en agitant les bras so cute.
L’envie, l’énergie sont palpables et communicatifs car tout commence souvent ici, sur scène. Fox N’ Wolf se sont rendus célèbres grâce à leurs performances délirantes et apocalyptiques ambiance arche de Noé : en concert ces 2 là débarquent déguisés en bêtes poilues au milieu des lasers, fumigènes et fausses acclamations du public, Mirejam débite ses explicits lyrics désormais repris par tous « Put Your left hand up in the air and your right hand down in your underwear », la rave version débraillée. Puis signés chez Kitsune qui après quelques maxis devrait sortir l’album courant 2007.

Rubato: is this because you're a one-man band? Are you Italian? A romantic music lover?
Ha ha ha. Actually, I'm Franco-Dutch. I first came up with this name while joking with friends. We were studying musicology and we used to hang out in studios in the university, playing jazz piano, sharing ideas and techniques. Back then, I was focused exclusively on harmony, playing ballads in a rather extreme rubato manner.
Did Institubes release your track Circuit?
No, not yet. Circuit is a live performance, lasting about 11 min. One take, there's no session material, no separate tracks. We're still working on the edits at the moment.
What are your other projects?
Working with Manda Djinn who's not your regular jazz singer. She's incredible. She sings negro-sprituals, blues, gospel, big band, you name it. With the dancefloor in mind, I was looking for a gospel artist who has high energy, technique and maturity. She's the perfect match
I used to replay samples and teach music but I'm dropping that to focus on producing original work and remixes, collaborating with Eyezcream Records, the crew at Institubes, and freelance singers/songwriters/producers such as Harryman and Jay Sebag. I also want to have time to possibly produce the album of a very special young English woman, as well as to familiarize myself with the teachings of Seth Riggs.
Are you planning to perform live any soon?
I feel like performing live, partying and travelling, but for now I've decided to stay in the studio and write more music. Later, you bet.
What music do you listen? Dance to?All sorts of music, really. Some artists have a special place in my life, like Donny Hathaway, Bill Evans and Philip Glass. I also love female singers with very delicate voices like Stina Nordenstam performing Dynamite. When it comes to music you can dance to, I love Braxe, Falke, Menace, Lifelike, Digitalism, Simian Mobile Disco, Mr Flash, Gopher, Stuart Price... the list goes on and on. I also dig old school stuff, like jazzfunk, 70-80's R&B, italo disco, new wave etc.
